JDK problem with Kerberos authentication in Java version >= 8u40 (FirstSpirit server only)

    Important notice for customers that are using Java 8 and Kerberos authentication:

    There is a Kerberos authentication bug in the Oracle JDK >= 8u40.

    This bug may cause authentication problems on the FirstSpirit start page.

    The official bug ID is: https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8078133

    We do not recommend to update the FirstSpirit server:smileyalert: to a JDK version >= 8u40 until this bug is fixed.

    The bug is not fixed in the last JDK release (8u45)!

    The version of the JDK/JRE on the client side (local computer) is not relevant.

      We recieved feedback from Oracle that this issue might be fixed with upate 8u51. See https://bugs.openjdk.java.net/browse/JDK-8078439

      We got a preliminary build from Oracle and were able to test the fix sucessfully.

      My tests with Kerberos enabled on FirstSpirit 5.1R4 and 5.2 using release Java SE 8u51 (1.8.0_51) completed successfully today!
