24.3.0 - Fredhopper Discovery Platform Release Notes

Introduction

These release notes provide an overview of the new features, resolved issues and improvements of the most recent release of the Fredhopper Access Server, FAS 24.3 version.

Fredhopper Access Server 24.3 is a major release which requires Java 21 VMs. The Query and Data APIs in this version are backwards compatible, so you don't need to change your endpoints to use this version unless you are on a version prior to FAS 7.5.

New Features

Merchandising Studio & Preview Pages

[New] Configuring (and overriding default) decimal and group separators globally and per locale.

[New] Validation to check redirects for at least one keyword, location or value distribution trigger.

[New] Experience Orchestrator (XO) product is now linked within Merchandising Studio.

[New] It is now possible to render both "more" and "less" links for facets into the response for certain applicable use cases.

[New] It is now possible to block individual facet values from rendering into the response.

[New] The names of the result modifications applied are now visible in the published preview pages.

[New] Modification rules with multiple criterion are now checked for secondary ranges.

[New] The size of the user role table was increased to allow more roles.

Search and Navigation

[New] Availability of simple relational search based on word count. This option is especially suitable for customers with variants values that contain multiple words.

[New] Removal of deprecated feature "Advanced Filter" on Linguistic analyzers page.

Deployment and Integration

[New] FAS now measures the round-trip and parsing time of the calls to CRU rules endpoint, and report the metrics in the bizlog file.

Improvements

Merchandising Studio & Preview Pages

[Improved] Reduction of loading time of Preview Pages by using minification on Javascript and CSS files.

[Improved] Search and navigation of the locale list in the Preview Pages drop-down menu.

[Improved] In certain occasions, it is now possible to save a configuration rule with warnings. For example, result modifications where the product has temporarily gone out of stock, or facets where a value is temporarily not provided in the feed.

[Improved] The search test page was improved by showing the lucene query of each search pass performed. The query is rendered with more details like the weight of each field/token.

Visual Merchandising Interface

[Improved] Context menu text now reads "Remove selected modification(s)" (former "Dismiss selected") to reflect the actual result of the action.

[Improved] The breadcrumbs alias response sections are now consistent.

[Improved] Improved performance for result modification with very long rules.

Resolved Issues

Merchandising Studio & Preview Pages

[Fixed] A/B Tests menu option is not available for all applicable user roles.

[Fixed] Removal of individual test cases of Search A/B Test does not work properly and can't be adequately saved.

[Fixed] "Send for publication" button is not shown after changes to the Navigation page are saved.

[Fixed] Visual Merchandising screen is frozen after the locale is changed manually in the address bar.

[Fixed] The users who edited an entity last is not preserved and incorrectly displayed in Merchandising Studio.

[Fixed] Problems regarding read and write permissions of ranking attributes caused Merchandising Studio performance degradation.

[Fixed] In certain edge cases, Merchandising Studio performance is negatively impacted by constant reloading of entities.

[Fixed] Ranking cocktails which contain conflated attributes are not always visible as sorting attributes in Merchandising Studio.

[Fixed] A/B test publishing states are not updated properly when changing rank in scope.

[Fixed] Campaign variant selector and product handpicking when there was a Page template trigger. The problem is now fixed.

[Fixed] When a rule on the Merchandising Studio's edit page is too long, the user interface might break. The problem is now fixed.

[Fixed] In some instances, the facet values item count may differ from the one displayed on the page. The problem is now fixed.

[Fixed] When a facet was created over a conflated attribute the facet values were not returned. The problem is now fixed.

[Fixed] In certain cases incorrect attributes are rendered when opening product details modal window in Visual Merchandising.

[Fixed] Occasionally drag & drop functionality placed items in the incorrect place. The problem is now fixed.

[Fixed] "Deliver facet map from last locations' for Detail and Compare pages now work on live instances.

Search and Navigation

[Fixed] Calculation of "estimated-results" property for query suggestions.

[Fixed] Spellcheck corrections were not working when more than one token was used for search. The problem is now fixed.

[Fixed] Match rate value was not correct for synonyms like A ~ A B. The problem is now fixed.
