Introduction
Fredhopper Discovery Platform 25.1.0 is compatible with previous releases.
Entity ordering logic in publications
In Fredhopper Discovery Platform version 25.1.0, the entity ordering logic for publications has been reworked. Previously, entity order was determined by their positions at the time of publication, and these positions were sent with the publication data.
Now, FAS tracks position changes on the indexer. When publishing, it attempts to find the last published entity that has not changed position to determine the correct order. This applies to entities that are not being deactivated, archived, or deleted.
Best practices & troubleshooting
- Always publish position changes when modifying entity positions.
- If possible, separate entity updates and position changes into different publications to reduce ordering issues.
- If entity order appears incorrect, re-publishing the affected entities should resolve the issue.
This change does not require any action during the upgrade. However, if entity order is already out of sync before upgrading, you may need to re-publish all configurations to align them correctly.
Expanded OpenJDK support
FAS and CRU can run on OpenJDK 21 distributions from any vendor now.
