FHR: How to enable the "View entities from parent scopes" option for the Merchandising Studio

This document will explain the process of enabling the "View entities from parent scopes" that is available for each Business User manager role.

Scenario

When creating a user in the Business user manager, it is assigned to a particular role, which includes different types of access to the Merchandising Studio. In this scenario, we would want the user to be able to view the different business entities(campaigns, facets and ect.) from the parent scope. This can be done via a button called "View entities from parent scopes".

Before enabling that option, there are a few things worth mentioning about its functionality:

- The "View entities from parent scopes" option is only available if the user is assigned to the child scopes of the parent scope of their choice.

- It will only appear in the Merchandising Studio only if one scope is selected. If the user selects more than one of the scopes that they have access to, it will not appear as an option.

Steps

1. Log in to the Fredhopper Merchandising Studio.
2. Navigate to System > Management > User Management.
3. Select the user account or role you want to update.
4. Locate the View entities from parent scopes option and enable it.
   
5. Save your changes.
6. Ask the relevant user to log out and log back in to the Merchandising Studio for the change to take effect.
7. Confirm that the user can now see entities from parent scopes when browsing the Merchandising Studio.
