This article will provide details of how an upgrade of your cloud environment to the latest FAS (Fredhopper Access Server) version happens and what to expect during the upgrade process.
Scenario
A FAS version upgrade for a cloud environment needs to be executed.
Steps
1. To request an upgrade of your environment to a newer FAS version please submit a new request.
2. The Support team will contact you to arrange the details of the upgrade including the time suitable for the process to be executed.
3. If the upgrade is requested during business hours, this will affect the availability of the Merchandising Studio as a reindex is required. Please inform your Merchandising team in advance that they won't be able to use the Studio at that time.
There will be no impact to the front end queries. Trading operations will not be impacted.
4. If the upgrade is requested outside business hours, this may happen with your next scheduled reindex.
The availability of the Merchandising Studio will be affected again, but your Merchandising team's work won't be interrupted as it is expected no one to be using the Merchandising Studio outside of business hours.
If this is not the case, please inform Support and arrange the most suitable time.
There will be no impact to the front end queries. Trading operations will not be impacted.
