FHR: How to change the order of attributes for different Fredhopper pages

This document will explain how the order of the attributes shown on the Fredhopper Preview pages can be customized.

Scenario

When navigating or searching through the Fredhopper Preview pages or clicking on a product to open the Detail page, a different list with attributes is shown for the different page types.

This list is based on the configuration done in the Display Fields in the System tab of the Merchandising Studio. 

The prerequisites for an attribute to be displayed are:

• to be enabled in the Navigation Index in the Merchandising Studio
• to be selected in the Display Fields in the Merchandising Studio

We would like the selected attributes to be reordered and the most relevant to be displayed on the top of the list for each product.

Steps

1. Log in to the Fredhopper Merchandising Studio.
2. Navigate to the System tab and open Display Fields.
3. Identify the page type whose attribute order you want to change. Options include Lister (Navigation and Search pages), Detail, Compare, and Campaigns.
4. Click the column name for the relevant page type — for example, click Lister to configure the attribute order for Navigation and Search pages.
   
   
5. In the screen that appears, drag the attributes into the order you want them to appear on the page, with the most relevant attributes at the top.
6. Save your changes.
7. If you want the same attribute order to appear on both Preview and Live, replicate this configuration in both environments — changes made in one environment do not automatically apply to the other.
