FHR: How to Enable Suggest Results in FHR Preview Pages

    This article will provide guidance on how to check your browser settings and do the necessary changes if the settings were reverted to default.

    Scenario

    Suggest results used to be available in Fredhopper preview pages when searching for a specific term, but this is no longer working.

    Steps for Google Chrome

      1. Open the Fredhopper preview page in your browser.
      2. Start typing a search term in the search box and check if your browser shows a Not secure sign next to the URL.
      3. Click on the red exclamation mark in the far left of the browser's address bar.

      4. From the resulting text box, click on 'Site settings'.

      5. You will be taken to the chrome site security settings for the preview pages

      6. Scroll down the page until you see the option for 'Insecure Content'

      7. Use the dropdown to select 'Allow'.

      8. Close the Chrome browser tab which will save the setting change.
      9. On your Preview page, click the reload button from the banner to reload the page.

      10. Try to re-enter the term into the search box. The Suggest results should be visible again.

    Steps for Firefox

    1. Open the Fredhopper preview page in your browser.
    2. Start typing a search term in the search box and check if your browser shows a padlock sign next to the URL.
    3. Click on the padlock and from the resulting text box, you click on the arrow > on the right.

    4. Then click the button to 'Disable protection for now'.

    5. The page should reload automatically for you.
    6. Try to re-enter the term into the search box. The Suggest results should be visible again.
