FHR: How to add a new attribute to the search configuration

This article will provide guidance on how to add a new attribute to the search configuration. 

Scenario

You wish to add new attributes to improve your search relevance and want them to be added to your search index.

Steps

In order to add a new attribute to the search configuration, you would need to:

1. Include the new attribute for the products in the feed.
2. Add the new attribute to the 'search index' configuration within System.
3. Configure the search pass(es). The attribute should be enabled in the 'Search passes' tab of the System.
4. Save the configuration and perform a re-index.
5. Test.
