Video tutorial transcript:
Introduction
Hello, and welcome to this short video introducing items campaigns with the static location option.
This video demonstration will familiarise you with items campaigns and how they are set up in Fredhopper’s Merchandising Studio.
Please be aware that test data is used throughout this demo, and you should refer to your own data sets when applying this functionality.
What are static location items campaigns?
Items campaigns can provide a means to inspire shoppers to purchase your products. Choosing the option static location displays items from a fixed location, so for example, if a shopper is viewing a ski jacket, you could also show base layer products.
Let me show you how to set up a static location items campaign in the merchandising studio.
The scenario is to show 4 red products from the handbags & purses category, when a shopper is viewing women’s red high-heeled shoes.
How to demo
Using your credentials open your Merchandising Studio. This will open on the campaigns tab by default:

Next … Click on new:

Let’s call this campaign Red bags and purses:

Click SELECT SCOPE and choose the scope:

For this scenario, we’ll need to set up a user location, as we want the campaign to trigger when women’s red high-heeled shoes are viewed.
Click on the Select trigger dropdown and choose Catalogue location:

Next, I need to choose the location, so click on ADD LOCATION:

I am now in the preview site, where I can navigate to the women’s high heeled shoes, and choose red from the colour facet:

Scroll down to action; you’ll see that Items is already selected as default. Next, change the number of items from 1 to 4: and change the 'items from' to 'static location':

Next, I need to select the static location and navigate to Women’s, Accessories, handbags & purses and choose red from the colour facet:

You can also add a 'filter by', from the dropdown. This where you can filter by any of your attributes, like brand, or material for example, for now, we will leave this blank.
There is also an option to rank the 4 items.
Naturally is selected as default, but you could choose a ranking cocktail, price or brand for example, for now, we will leave these as per the default.
Check your campaign configuration is accurate and click Save:

It is best practice to make sure the campaign is firing as expected to open your preview site and navigate to Women’s red high heeled shoes. I’ll also choose another category to make sure it doesn’t appear.

If you are happy with the campaign, then send it for publication:

Best practice
A few best practices to remember with regard to campaigns:
- Use the date and time trigger to set up campaigns in advance.
- De-active or archive campaigns that are not currently in use, which you can reactivate and publish at a later date (annual/seasonal events).
- Add appropriate labels so you can easily find campaigns.
Thank you for watching this demo video, we hope you have enjoyed this quick introduction to items campaigns.
