Introduction to text campaigns
This guide will provide you with simple step-by-step instructions to create a text campaign using Fredhopper's Merchandising Studio.
These campaigns are the most simple to create but, at the same time, are a very versatile campaign type. They can be used to supply additional text content to the front-end. The text can be for rendering or providing additional content to supplement the page like (HTML, metadata, SEO etc.). The text you add can also include a link to another location or URL as necessary, this is optional.
The configuration possibilities are vast. This article focuses on how to create a text campaign using a common scenario, which can easily be tailored to your own visual merchandising strategy.
It is recommended that you have read the 'Getting started with campaigns' article before you use campaigns in your Merchandising Studio.

The campaign will be triggered when a shopper lands on any page, except if the location contains; Gifts, Beauty or Electricals, and the user will see specific text providing details of a 10% discount for any Levi's items.

The campaign will be displayed on all pages (including product landing pages and product details pages) in your site except any pages associated with Gifts, Beauty and Electricals.
Step 8
Next, you need to configure the action; what will happen when a shopper lands on the location where this campaign will trigger.

There are two areas;
- Display is the text you can display around the campaign, and the content you may want to show to the shopper
- Contents. This is where you choose 'text' campaign and add the text details
Step 9
For this guide, we will keep the Display settings blank as per their defaulted settings.
Scroll down to the contents section and from the 'Show' drop-down choose 'Text':
Step 10
Next, add the additional details to the fields in the Content section, here's what to add for this scenario and a short explanation of each of the fields available for a text campaign:
- Add the title 'HEY, GET 10% OFF ANY LEVI'S ITEMS WITH CODE: LEVIS19'
- Optional - here you can add a line of text that will appear underneath the main title. For this scenario, we will leave it blank
- Optional - here you can add a line of text that will appear underneath Subtitle 1. For this scenario, we will leave it blank
- You can add a URL or location link, this is where you can choose one of these options. For this scenario, we will leave it as the default = URL
- Optional - here you would add the URL if you wanted a URL to be applied. If you do add a URL, this will be applied to the text you have entered in the Title field. For this scenario, we will leave it blank.
- This area provides you with a preview of the text campaign, it's good to check your spelling and that the text is accurate
Step 11

Step 12
It is good practice to check the campaign is firing as expected before you send it for publication, so go to your Preview site:
Navigate to a few different locations to check where the text campaign appears, remember it should not appear in Gifts, Beauty or Electricals:
Step 13
You can still edit your campaign if required, otherwise, click Send for publication for more information on Publication, click here:
Once this has been published, the campaign will appear on your front end depending on your cache process.
