Introduction
This is an introductory guide to the XO Console, providing you with information and how to navigate.
What is the XO Console?
Experience Orchestrator (XO) is an omnichannel AI-powered search, merchandising, and recommendations platform for you to easily personalise the entire shopper journey, from product discovery to purchase and retention.
XO is more than a product discovery tool. It also covers other types of content such as articles, banners and more through recommendations in any channel, browser, email, or mobile. All-powered by AI but giving you the control to implement your merchandising strategies through visual merchandising, dynamic attributes, targeting and triggering and product tagging.
XO provides the following feature capabilities for ecommerce businesses:
Search
- Product search in the business catalogue.
- Content search in the store and additional sources
- Predictive search, configurable to suggest products, categories, or keywords based on the shopper’s keystrokes.
- Configuration of search results using business rules: sorting and filtering of returned results, visualisation in selected spots on the page.
- Fine-tuning of search precision through the system configuration: stemming, linguistic analysers, synonyms, redirects.
- Multi-lingual search.
- Spell correction.
- Fuzzy search.
Navigation
- Automatically generated categories and facets based on the data model of the product catalogue
- Configurable facets.
- Context-sensitive navigation.
- Configuration of results shown through navigation using business rules: sorting and filtering of returned results, visualisation in selected spots on the page.
Personalisation
- Recommended products based on personal data provided by the client.
- Recommended products based on the wisdom of the crowd and data about the behaviour of the current shopper.
- Configuration of personalised recommendations using business rules: when, where, and how to show recommended products, sorting and filtering recommended products.
Merchandising
- Image and text banners.
- Configurable product collections: sorting and filtering, visualisation under selected conditions.
- Configurable search and navigation results: sorting and filtering, visualisation in selected spots on the page.
- Precision filtering and sorting through single item characteristics or through more complex ranking cocktails.
- Product recommendations.

Recommendations
- Recommendations on home, lister, basket and product detail pages.
- Hand-picked item recommendations.
- Item recommendations picked automatically through configurable filtering and sorting criteria.
- Personalised recommendations based on data supplied by the client.
- Personalised recommendations based on the wisdom of the crowd and data about the behaviour of the user.
- Cross and up-sell recommendations.
Navigating the XO Console
Log in to the XO Console using your credentials. You will be taken to the Merchandising > Widgets tab, indicated by the white bar. From this menu bar, navigate to other feature capabilities as required.
- Feature navigation. There is more information below on the features available in the XO Console.
- Page options. View and change the tenant, and copy the page link.
- User account options. View notifications, change the language, manage your profile, create and manage users (if you are an administrator), and log out.
- The homepage lists all the individual items that have been configured, providing you with a brief overview of the name, displays, labels, number of clicks, add-to baskets, buys and sales. More information is available by clicking on the three dots.
Features
Merchandising
Within Merchandising, you have widgets. You can see all your widgets here with general overall metrics such as number of recommendations, clicks, add to carts, and total buys. You can access a widget by clicking on its name. Above this are native A/B Tests, and a date range to compare performance.
You also have Merchandising rules where you can build strategies, and if activated, email widgets for personalised email recommendations.

Search
In Search, you have direct access to your search configuration, API keys and index mapping.
Catalog
You can access your catalog data here, where you find all item lists, import history, complementary items and dynamic attributes where you can leverage the XO tracker on your website (not so sure about this?)
Tags
In Tags, you can access tag lists, rules and mass tag assignments.
Algorithms
You also have access to the AI algorithms, where you can check the library of algorithms available in this tenant and get an overview of how they are performing. In this session, you will also see custom scoring
Insights
In Insights, you have global statistics, global tracking and search statistics to view the performance of all your strategies and algorithms as well as search performance.
Developers
In the Developer section, you have access to more information and tools such as variables, import configurations and item kinds.
Support
The Support section is for our admin use, so you don’t have to worry about this one.
