The FAS index fields are the fields you need to configure in the Merchandising Studio in order to allow FAS to know which attribute will be used for search, merchandising, navigation and ranking (sorting).
The index fields can be separated into 2 groups:
- Navigation Fields -> for navigation and ranking
- Search Fields -> for the search and spell index
Setting up Navigation index
The navigation fields are the data points that can be used for facets and for ranking/sorting.
To set up your navigation fields follow these steps:
- Log in to the Merchandising Studio
- Go to System > Navigation
- Here, you can select the data attributes you want to use for Facets and/or ranking by clicking on the little red button next to the attribute name
- You can use the heading to see the current usage in the FH configuration.
| Green button indicates the attribute is part of the navigation index. |
Setting up Search index
The search fields are the data points that can be used for search
To set up your search fields follow these steps:
- From the Merchandising Studio
- Go to System > search > Search index
- Here you can select the data attributes you want to use for search
- The Source field is where you can select any active attribute you wish to be included in the search index.
- The Linguistic analyser does some processing of the raw data before it is stored for search. Generally, you should use the stemmed analyser that corresponds to the language used in the environment.
NB: *Some attributes require specific analysers; if in doubt, speak with support, CSM or TC.
- The Search Field is where you can rename the attribute for easier identification in the search pass setup.
