Welcome! This article will provide you with a simple step-by-step guide to create automatic tags based directly on your attributes.
About this feature
With XO, easily enrich your item catalog.
Automatically convert all the attributes and characteristics of your catalog into tags and manage them directly on XO.
The attribute values to convert can be in any format (text, number, ..) and cover any kind of information (ex: brand, categories, sizes, prices,..).
This tag will be updated ("recomputed") on your catalogue at each import or through a "manual recomputing" action.
You can create an automatic tag on your existing attributes from any formats. If you wish to create a new attribute on your catalogue, please contact your CSM.
Key Benefits of this feature
Key Benefits of this feature : exploit automatically & easily all the informations related to your product (ex: brand, Product Category, sizes, price, stocks, colors..).
This tag can be used in your merchandising rules to filter, boost or exclude some specific values (one specific category, brand....).
Scenario
We will base the scenario on a specific example, using an XO demo account. Here, we need to push the products of the brand “huub”. In order to do so, we'll create a tag based on the attribute “brand” and manage our merchandising rules based a specific brand. To explain these tag creations, we will use a Demo account.
Step 1
Step 2
To add your tag title, write the very same name of your attribute within brackets braces: {{attributename}}. In this example, it will be {{brand}}.
Optional but highly recommended, you can add a Prefix (in caps or not) to recognise easily your tag in the tag list. As a final title, you will create “BRAND_{{brand}}”.
Step 3
Use the Transform fields if you wish to homogenise the values contained in the attribute. This optional fields is necessary when you want to be sure that all the values will respect the same case writing rules (uppercase, lowercase, capitalise). Also, select the “Trim” box to delete the space before and after the value and the “slug”box to change the space between 2 words into the character “_”. Note that this homogenisation work & Prefix needs to be aligned with any variable that you want to match with your tag.
Step 4
Save your tag by selecting Update BRAND_{{brand}}. Once your tag is saved, you can apply it immediately to your catalogue by selecting the action “Launch a recomputation”.
In case you need to create several tag rules at once, you can directly “create a new tag rule”, and renew this action until you have created all the tags you wish before you launch a recomputation, as this action is automatically applied to all the existing tags.
You can also go back to your tag rule list by selecting the corresponding action. To launch the computation on the Tags/Tag Rule section, you will select the button “Recompute tags”.
How can you check the tag application?
There are 4 ways to check that the tag was applied:
- On Tags/Tag Rule, you can use the search box to find your tag and see a sample & the number of items with this tag
2. On Tags/Tag List, you can see all your tag Values (BRAND_zipp, BRAND_huub,…) and the number of items containing this tag
3. On catalogue/Item list, you can choose in the tags search box your tag (using the prefix is useful). You will see all the items containing this tag value
4.On catalogue/ item list, you can see the tag applied to it. Here the “BRAND_huub” in grey
