Introduction to widgets
This guide will provide you with the necessary information to familiarise you with widgets. This is not a technical guide.
A widget is a placeholder that can be added on any of your website page and will allow you to display recommendations.
Creating a 100% predictive widget in the Early Birds console only takes a few minutes. One can then add constraints by defining rules according to the strategy you wish to give to your widget.

Assignment
This section allows you to see an overview of the existing widgets and the main indicators linked to the recommendations generated by Early Birds:
- number of widgets displayed
- number of clicks
- number of add-to-basket
- number of purchases
- generated sales
Note: for purchases, the sales shown are for products purchased within seven days following a click on a product recommended by Early Birds.
For more in-depth statistics, click on the "..." button for the widget of your choice and select Statistics as shown below:
A/B test
Note: Here we are referring to display A/B tests (as opposed to A/B tests that you can create inside the widget configuration to test the results of different algorithms, rules, etc).
When clicking on A/B test, you'll be able to see a summary with the following indicators:
- number of widgets displayed
- generated sales
- conversion rate
- average basket value
- confidence (depending on the number of results generated and their reliability)
Scenarios
Widgets can be created on different pages on your website and for different uses such as:
- homepage
- desktop or smartphone
- as a banner
