Business Manager
- The concept of 'triggers in action' was extended to result modifications. The action a result modification performs can now be influenced via external parameters passed to FAS as a trigger value.
- Value distribution triggers can now influence external redirects.
- The Business Manager interface is now available in Dutch and Japanese.
- Several aspects of the Business Manager UI were restyled.
Search
- The FAS query response now contains OR pass feedback. FAS not only performs partial matches but also details how many results each match delivers.
- Relational search now uses 'targets' instead of 'ranges', bringing relevant products higher in a concept search like 'red dress' without blocking products that are not strictly 'red'.
- Items can now be sorted on secondary (relational) list attribute types.
Changes to the query response
- Following deprecation in the previous major release, support for the 'keeplist' and 'order' query response page templates has been removed.
- Regular facets over list attribute types, just like multi-select facets, now produce selections of the form
attr>{value}, instead of
{{attr={value}}}Note that this is only a syntactic change. The semantics of such selections is unchanged.
Migration
- A long-deprecated system.xml configuration setting that instructed FAS to order lateral and non-lateral facets as it did before FAS 7.0.0 was removed. Front-ends that relied on this 'disable-lateral-facet-merging' setting must be modified to reorder facets as desired.
Deprecations
- Facet-based campaign filters (i.e., item campaign filters that reference a facet option by index) are deprecated. This feature will be removed in FAS 8.0. Campaigns that depend on this rarely-used feature should have their filter configuration updated.
Deployment
FAS 7.5.2 requires Oracle Java 7 update 5 or later (see Install Java for more information).
FAS 7.5.2 requires the Fredhopper Deployment Agent version 1.1-beta-6 or later.
