Introduction
This guide will provide you with a simple step-by-step guide on creating new users and managing existing users in the Merchandising Studio.
Prerequisites
Before you start, please verify that you have access to the Merchandising Studio with Administrator rights.
If you are unsure if you have Administrator rights, please check under System > Management > Business User Management.
Alternatively, you can also submit a new request, and we will be able to assist you.
Creating a new user
Go to System > Management > Business User Manager > Add new user.
Enter the email address of the user. All other details will be pre-filled for you based on your account's existing preferences, including language and date format.
Then choose a Role for your user. Role Permissions are set up during the onboarding process for your solution and dictate the level of access associated with each role.
Each role will be set up differently based on your company and its requirements. Here, for example, we can see that an Administrator role has Read and Write access to all aspects, whereas a Business User has limited permissions.
If you are unsure about role permissions, please contact an Administrator user to discuss any changes you wish to make to role permissions.
Once you have entered all the required information, press 'Send invite'.
The user status will now appear as 'Invited' in the Business user manager.
Please note that the invitation email expires after 24 hours. If the user has not verified their email address during that time, the invitation will need to be resent.
Once the user has activated their account, the account status will be indicated as 'Active'.
Resending an expired invitation
If a user has not verified their email address within 24 hours, the original email link will expire and will need to be resent in the Business user manager.
Go to System > Management > Business User Manager.
Here you will see the Status as 'Invited (Invitation expired)'.
Click on the user email address in the list to edit the user. Click 'Re-send invite'.
The user status will change back to 'Invited'.
If the user does not verify their email address within 24 hours, the verification link will expire, and their status will revert to 'Invited (Invitation expired)'.
